Award Season 2012
We’re delighted that three designs stocked by Foundry have been acknowledged in the prestigious Wallpaper* Design Awards 2012.
Best Floor Light
‘Sorry Giotto’ by Catallani & Smith won Best Floor Light. And no wonder: it has a beautifully soft moonlight effect, thanks to a total of 16 warm white 1 watt dimmable LEDs mounted into the painted copper rings.
Best Outdoor Light
Then there’s ‘Wind’ designed by Jordi Vilardell for Spanish lighting specialists Vibia. Wind is composed of woven white fibreglass and its parasol-shaped light brings a breezy, poetic touch. This impressed the judges enough to name it Best Outdoor Light.
Best Desk Light
Finally, there’s ‘Piani’, designed by the Bouroullec brothers for the seminal Italian manufacturer Flos, which picked up the Best Desk Light award. When Piani is lit up, it gives the home office or workplace a monolithic, architectural quality of light.
Once again Foundry are leading the pack in lighting & design, seeking out the award winning designs of the future.
