Luna Nel Pozzo

Luna nel Pozzo (Moon in Well) by Catellani & Smith is the result of an experiment carried out in Dusseldorf at Designer’s Saturday (installed in October 1997), when Catellani was asked to realise a concept and not a lamp. The idea was to illuminate water, not according to the concept of illuminated pool, protected by glass, but to illuminate the actual water, thus obtaining materialisation of the light. The water became light and therefore matter.
